1975년 미국에서 백인으로만 구성된 5인조 디스코 밴드인 ‘Wild Cherry’가 1976년 발표해서 빌보드차트에 18주간 올랐고, 9월 18일부터 3주간이나 1위를 차지했다.
수많은 영화에 삽입되어 더욱 널리 알려졌다.
Wild Cherry 라는 밴드명은 리더인 랍 파리시가 감기약 이름에서 따온 것이라고 한다.
